Eva Medin

Eva Medin is a visual artist and videographer. Her work focuses on short films, light installations and contemporary choreographies. Playing alternately on the effects of sound, light and spatiality, Eva Medin’s artworks often reflect a dark and mysterious atmosphere with futuristic contours.

Growing up in Brazil, she was immersed in the world of cabaret and silent performance (her father was a mime) and was influenced early on by this way of telling stories through body language. Her approach is anchored in a certain ecology of thought, working on the ideas of transmission, relationship and networking between individuals and the world.

Eva Medin deploys a vocabulary as effective as a haiku and its effects of extreme condensation. The aesthetic of her works, borrowed from pop culture and science fiction, also allows her to “fictionalize the real to better think it”, producing speculative or anticipatory narratives that encourage us to consider all possibilities.
