Louis Granet

Louis Granet has decided to leave the world of comics to devote himself fully to acrylic and oil on canvas. A desire for emancipation in terms of format, register and subjects, but his identity remains attached to the pop influences and bold flat colors of the comics.

Immerse yourself in Louis Granet’s universe as you would in the turquoise waters of a swimming pool: this was the artist’s wish, with his solo exhibition at the artothèque de Pessac, entitled Merveilles ZONE.

Following this series, exhibited in 2024, and with the same nostalgia for a Provencal summer spent by the sea, bucolic pictures follow one another. In the background, a sky or an ocean, in the foreground, vegetation bordering on abstraction. In a burst of romanticism, his oversized tulips break free from the frame, contrasting with the significant blue shades of the series. The subject is expanding, refusing shyness and shouting its name.
