Nøne Futbol Club

Nøne Futbol Club is an artist duo founded in 2009 in Paris. These former graphic design students and graduates of the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris combine object, word, and reflection on the value of art to radically and humorously denounce the sociopolitical issues of this field.

Their sculptures, installations, and videos operate on the principle of hacking. Subversion, hijacking, and slogans are wielded with striking irony. Their works, described as activist, form a mischievous, engaged art rooted in current events.

At the Photo edition of Private Choice in November 2024, La Tonsure (after Marcel Duchamp) showcases work imbued with humor and wit. Man Ray’s photograph of the conceptual art master, exhibited at the Centre Pompidou, serves as a starting point. Nøne Futbol Club adorns Duchamp’s balding head with a neon star, an intervention that crowns his genius by creating a shooting star, symbolizing sudden inspiration. What a brilliant and irreverent idea.
