PARSA edition
Shiva Shayan and Thomas Vlach
Founded in 2020, PARSA publishing house was born from the meeting between Shiva Shayan, an Iranian-born editor, and French designer Thomas Vlach. This international project is driven by their shared passion for furniture, craftsmanship, and the raw beauty of minerals. By sourcing natural stone directly from Iranian quarries, PARSA represents a unique blend of tradition and contemporary design.
Once the world’s cradle of craftsmanship, PARSA highlights the ancestral skills preserved by Iranian artisans through their contemporary creations. Marble, granite, travertine, onyx, and solid wood pieces are crafted to respect their natural form and reveal their beauty.
At the 2024 edition of Private Choice, the Hasht coffee table, crafted from solid white Karmania traonyx, will be unveiled. This rounded piece is the result of a private commission. The polished stone, partially translucent, keeps its natural veins and irregularities, showing its unique history.
PARSA also produces objects: the Badavi bookends, granite pieces with geometric shapes, or the Roshane table lamps, handmade from glazed ceramic with a design that recalls soft waves.
The Yazd bench, on the other hand, features sharp angles. Its base, made of stained solid oak and inspired by radical architecture, is topped with a black basalt surface. Two Badguir stools will also be showcased, both crafted from oiled natural elm and oak.
